This is going to take a while to say everything needed to say. I will continue to add as time goes by. We have serious issues arising in the online pepper community. It is becoming increasingly difficult to tell what is true and what is false in the world of peppers. There’s a barrage of new names and claims from other peoples peppers in the last 10 years or so. It seems many are not new hybrids, but pulled from other known crosses and given new names. Even stable types are getting renamed. In previous years selecting a variation or pheno and growing multiple generations was accepted to justify a new name. Unfortunately it has become saturated with every new slightly different pepper given new names and sold as soon as someone finds it. Very few actually try to replicate the new pheno before selling or passing around. If it doesn’t look like it’s supposed to, many think it’s a new cross and make up yet another name. That cycle continues for many years. Every generation gets a new name and the real origin gets lost in the shuffle. Every new hybrid will give many, many variations, for many generations. This is not the correct way of doing things. It causes mass confusion. To be continued……
