Peppapeach Stripey was found by Matt Layton in 2021. These ML seeds offered here are from Matt’s 2022 harvest and you can see some of the differences as you grow F3. ML selection is still giving a little variation and is a great opportunity to select some different phenos. Pepper Guru (PG) has graciously supplied his 2023 selection from F3 (F4 seeds) of this particular variation. PG selection has another generation and is a bit more stable. Rich Blood (PG) has made 2 years selection now on his lineage. Sugar Rush are lovely tasting peppers with a little sweet heat. Red was first an untold cross from Jukka Fatali. Chris Fowler found peach from the red and eventually many other variations were found across the pepper community. “Stripey” is a natural mutation that has presented itself in many different lines of selection including Sugar Rush Red & Sugar Rush Peach. Dave Schramm was first to find it from Sugar Rush Red, and his Sugar Rush Peach selection he shared; led to many others to find the same mutation. Tom Motta found stripes from Daves SRP seeds in 2017 but never shared. Mark Zamora also found the same Stripey mutation from Dave’s SRP seeds. A few people had it by 2019, but it wasn’t available and most didn’t grow Sugar Rush “Stripey” until 2020. During this time more people found the stripey mutation in different sibling lines of Sugar Rush. PeppaPeach Stripey is a selection from isolated Peppapeach RFC seed stock. Peppapeach is a variation from Sugar Rush Peach. Aji Tangerine and Aji Fantasy are also very likely selections from the same original Sugar Rush cross.
