A known scammer resides in the pepper world. Clayton Ribeiro came on the scene in 2017 as just a grower. He started asking everyone for seeds and trades with few to offer. Someone coined him as a seagull. He began to offer “rare” wilds. He ripped countless people off for seeds. He sent out boiled seeds (“microwaved”) that wouldn’t germinate. He started putting down well known growers saying he was an “Eagle “. Many of what he did send were all of only a few types. All the rest never received anything at all. He charged some people  hundreds of dollars for unusable seeds. He sent all these seeds he gathered and scammed for to a farmer (Wagner Rantin) to cultivate. Somehow they lost all of their labels and started guessing what everything was. He spent over a year trying to identify everything I sent him. Sometimes asking for identification and a month later saying he created it. All along he was just going to Wagner’s farm. Many other Brazilian seed sellers including Pimentas Jumaly, also get supplied by this same grower and continue to make up names for anything they can get away with. They originally  made up names for anything they couldn’t identify, but now they even sell the same plant as different things by picking at different times of the year and growing conditions. Now it’s all a hot fruit salad of misidentified peppers. Many well known growers are now passing on their jumbly mess of misidentifications and renames. Many of the renames come from Pimenta Jolokia, Horizon, BBG Black Jes, BBG Purple Ghostscorpion, MAMP, Bhut Purple Peach, 7JPN, Bhutlahgum MAMP, Purplegum, BOC x Reaper, BOC x Primo, Douglah Peachy/Inception, Tiger, Primo Nior, Panther, & Monstergum Leopard that I directly sent to Clayton. They basically changed the names of 90% I sent. If you order this, I will supply PJ Black Molten Ice as bonus. Be careful with the Brazilian syndicate of pepper crime, a big chunk is all lies and deceit.

How do you know what you actually have in recent days? The answer is to grow as many of the seeds you can and look at the entire spread of variations. All these dark types are still highly unstable. Here on this page you can compare the different phenos to see what cross you might actually have.
