Absolutely beautiful peppers fringing on SuperHot heat. Slightly fruity depending on the pheno. Purple Bubblegum that turns red when ripe. I Found 1 plant growing with purplish foliage and bleeding calyx from some Yellow 7 Pot Bubblegum plants in 2017. I received BBG Yellow seeds from Florissa Arroyo. I first thought It must have crossed with an upward growing ornamental type based on the darker, almost black no calyx phenotypes . I am now suspicious that the BBG Yellow may have been a green leaf MAMP variant. It could have exhibited hidden traits with the dark foliage. I will never really know if someone dropped off the original name. If it were like the old pepper world I could have claimed every variation as my “creation”. I decided to keep them in one family under”PurpleGum” to make it less confusing and show the different things that can come from 1 hybrid. Many have renamed these from me and mixed them up with “Puma BBG” which is a different cross all together. Others have recently mixed them with BBG x PDN or TigerGum. The degree of purple will vary depending on growing conditions and selection. It has spawned yellow, orange, peach, white, cream and variations In between. Some with and some without the bleeding calyx. Green leaf variants have shown also. The BBG phenos are actually milder in heat than the non-bleeding counterparts. Non bleeding upward growing phenos are labeled as ”Purple Uprising “.
